Bhagat Singh, a freedom fighter, is arrested for killing the British official responsible for the death of his mentor Lala Lajpatrai. He is ultimately hanged for his misdeed.

When it comes to Shaheed Bhagat Singh, the freedom fighter’s saga has retold by cinema several times. Paving his own way through revolution, Bhagat Singh started a new wave of “Inquilab Zindabad”. Be it Shammi Kapoor, Manoj Kumar, Bobby Deol or Ajay Devgan, Bhagat Singh has been Bollywood’s favorite. But here’s one that happened to stay!

3. Shaheed Udham Singh
Udham Singh dedicated his whole life to murder Michael O’Dwyer, the British Lieutenant Governor of the Punjab who had ordered for the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. The fighter’s story was picked up by the Raj Babbar and Juhi Chawla starrer movie. This perhaps is the only time cinema has narrated Udham Singh’s story and hence is a must watch.

Ketan Mehta‘s Sardar 1993 starred Paresh Rawal cosplaying the iron man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The movie revolves around the life of Sardar Patel, his inclusion into India’s struggle for freedom and his initiatives to get princely states to join the union of India

Ambedkar, who is known as the architect of the Indian constitution, is unfortunately not very well known by the citizens of the very country he constituted.

Vinayak Damodar Savarkar is another unsung freedom fighter whose contributions to the Indian’s independence struggle is still not known to the masses. Shailendra Gaur plays the lead role in the movie.
